Supporting Ukraine's Tech Resilience

As Ukraine continues to confront the devastating effects of Russia’s invasion, its robust tech sector has been severely impacted, with businesses facing disrupted operations due to attacks on power and telecommunications infrastructure. The displacement of millions has also slowed the country's economic recovery, with a particular risk of a "brain drain" in the tech industry if skilled workers do not return or find ways to rebuild.

Recognizing the importance of supporting the country’s tech talent, the UK-Ukraine Tech Bridge and Re:Coded are launching an initiative to provide free access to digital skills training, with a focus on women and veterans. This initiative will equip participants with cutting-edge knowledge in software engineering, product design, and other essential areas, helping them prepare for roles in the burgeoning global digital economy.

A Partnership for the Future

"As part of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge initiative, establishing partnerships with leading organizations that promote skill development and career advancement is a top priority. Ukraine is dedicated to increasing employment in the technology sector, recognizing its crucial role in our economic growth and post-war reconstruction. We are grateful to Re:Coded for their commitment to supporting Ukraine and its people, and we look forward to future collaborations that will expand educational opportunities for Ukrainians," said Alex Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Building Resilience Through Education

With technology playing a central role in Ukraine’s economic reconstruction, this partnership comes at a critical time. By providing access to high-quality education and training, Re:Coded and the UK-Ukraine Tech Bridge are offering participants the tools to succeed in the digital age, despite the ongoing conflict. As the world embraces the future of work, initiatives like these will empower individuals to thrive in a tech-driven global economy. Rodney Berkeley CBE, Director Sustainability and Infrastructure, Department for Business and Trade, who is responsible for the initiative said, “we are delighted to announce our partnership with Re:Coded, an innovative training provider, to deliver essential digital skills and career bootcamps for Ukrainians in the UK as part of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge. This collaboration reaffirms our steadfast commitment to the UK-Ukraine TechBridge, and our support for Ukraine's dynamic tech industry.”

Looking Forward

This partnership is poised to make a lasting impact, helping Ukrainian citizens access vital career opportunities while also contributing to the rebuilding of the country’s tech industry. By bridging international support and local talent, the UK-Ukraine Tech Bridge and Re:Coded are fostering a brighter future for Ukrainian tech professionals, offering hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
